Purpose

The incumbent is accountable for managing and supervising the safe & reliable operations of the assigned facilities under the JIGPC in Jazan, Saudi Arabia.

 

Nature & Scope

The Operation Manager is accountable for managing and supervising the operations staff which include shift superintendents, operation foremen, shift supervisors, control room operators and field operators. His scope mainly involve managing the day to day operations including daily customer production meetings, ensuring daily operational targets are achieved, and actively leading and interfacing with the HSSE, Maintenance & Technical, HR, Supply Chain, and other departments to ensure safe and reliable operation of the facilities.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Safety

·        Provide & maintain a safe work environment. Demonstrate leadership with all company & industry safe work processes to prevent all injuries.

Technical:

• Provide direction & guidance based on technical feedback from HSSE and Reliability Engineering for troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and test activities.
• Provide Operations support & guidance during the commissioning of the plants. Maintain accurate document control and monitor quality assurance initiatives. 
• Provide Operations guidance to ensure safety, reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems.
• Provide Operations input for scheduled outages to ensure contractual requirements are achieved
• Manage plant production efficiently based on data-driven decisions to ensure safety and reliability targets are met to achieve maximum profitable.
• Work closely with business areas to identify productivity expansion projects.

Operations

• Ensure the safety of all operations personnel by utilizing JIGPC basic safety standard procedures, which includes Safety Work Permits, LOTO, Confined Space, etc.  The position facilitates planning, organizing, auditing, and follow-up, to build safety culture into JIGPC.
• Ensure all Environmental Regulatory requirements are met.
• Establish the operating organization and support the commissioning activities.
• Ensure JIGPC standards, and global best practices for EH&S, productivity, reliability, quality, and overall customer services are met.
• Meet the customer’s satisfaction on safety, reliability, product quality, and flexibility on product supply.
• Build the plant technical capability through support coordination from Regional and Global teams (if any).
• Provide guidance and leadership to the HSSE, Reliability, (Maintenance & Technical) and Operations team to achieve operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
• Develop, train, and promote top performing personnel who achieve success through teams, customer and employee focused, foster open communication, performance-driven, and results- oriented.
• Establish, lead, & maintain close working relationships with the HSSE, engineering and maintenance personnel to continuously monitor & evaluate plant systems & equipment.
• Provide operations support and participate / lead incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis. Identify & implement sustainable corrective action(s).
• Act as the Single Point of Contact when managing internal and external issues of the assigned facilities representing JIGPC and coordinating internal and external resources. Provide timely progress updates to the customer.
• Facilitate attainment of operations excellence and customer satisfaction via operations productivity, reliability, quality, cost reduction, services, continuous improvements, and meeting of budgets.
• Maintain a relationship with the owners (JIGPC) and customer’s upper level managers on a quarterly basis (or during times of crisis) to ensure alignment of expectations for JIGPC and the customer’s current and future product demand.
