Role Purpose
The Ski / Snow Park Package Manager is responsible for overseeing the full construction, installation, and commissioning of all components related to the indoor snow park. This includes cold-room structures, insulated panel systems, refrigeration and snow-making equipment, MEP services, ride attractions, theming works, and coordination with specialist international vendors. The role ensures that the entire snow park package is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with technical specifications and global winter-attraction standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Construction Management
- Lead and manage all construction activities within the snow park zone, covering structural, architectural, MEP, cold-room systems, and specialized installations.
- Supervise installation of insulated sandwich panels, vapor barriers, cooling coils, and snow-making systems.
- Ensure all activities follow approved drawings, project specifications, and method statements.
- Manage subcontractors and specialist suppliers throughout project execution.
2. Technical & Specialist Coordination
- Review shop drawings, technical submittals, mock-ups, and materials related to cold-room and snow systems.
- Coordinate with refrigeration specialists, MEP teams, ride attraction suppliers, theming contractors, and structural engineers.
- Ensure airtightness, insulation integrity, and overall thermal performance of the snow park envelope.
- Manage complex interfaces with building services, ELV systems, fire protection, and ride attractions.
3. Refrigeration & Snow Systems Oversight
- Oversee installation of:
- Refrigeration plants and compressors
- Snow guns and snow-making systems
- Cooling coils and chilled glycol networks
- Temperature and humidity control equipment
- Ensure snow production meets project specifications and safety requirements.
4. Quality Control & Compliance
- Conduct inspections for thermal insulation, vapor barriers, waterproofing, and mechanical systems.
- Ensure compliance with international standards for indoor snow and cold-environment facilities.
- Maintain inspection records, NCR logs, approvals, and quality documentation.
5. Health, Safety & Environment
- Enforce HSE protocols related to cold environments, refrigerants, confined spaces, and heavy equipment installation.
- Ensure subcontractors follow approved safe work procedures and risk assessments.
6. Schedule & Documentation
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
- Develop look-ahead schedules and highlight risks or potential delays.
- Coordinate with planning and cost-control teams for progress measurement and reporting.
7. Commercial & Contract Management
- Verify subcontractor progress and recommend payment certifications.
- Review variation orders, scope changes, and claims.
- Ensure all commercial decisions are supported with proper documentation.
8. Testing, Commissioning & Handover
- Lead testing and commissioning of refrigeration systems, snow-making equipment, and environmental control systems.
- Oversee temperature stabilization, snow production trials, and humidity control.
- Prepare snag lists and ensure timely closure.
- Hand over completed systems to Operations, including training, manuals, and required certifications.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Industrial, or Construction Engineering.
- 10+ years of construction experience, including 5+ years in cold-room facilities, indoor snow parks, ice rinks, or refrigeration-intensive projects.
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, thermal insulation, vapor barriers, and snow-making technologies.
- Experience with international snow park vendors is highly preferred.
- Excellent coordination, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple specialist contracts and complex interface-driven works.
