• To ensure that annual operational targets plans are met by working with managers, supervisors and teams to develop process improvements or ways to enhance efficiency and then motivating the team to achieve the necessary improvements
• To manage the key elements of the profitability of the Health Insurance portfolio:
• Pricing risk competitively and negotiating appropriate terms and conditions
• Ensuring high levels of service in response to requests for proposals and smooth, efficient processing of renewals
• Supporting development and delivery of attractive products and
key client relationships; turning potential client quotations into actual premium income
• Improving both quality of service and efficiency of operations; developing clear procedures and supportive
systems that reduce cost and minimize error
• To maintain a “reaching out to the client” service ethos that will enhance the comany reputation and brand whilst building client loyalty and retention
• To carefully tailor the underwriting of quotes and policies to clients needs whilst negotiating
‘commercially’ on prices and details of any variations in standard terms and conditions
• To actively monitor the key sales and profitability performance ratios, investigating and rectifying any negative
variances whilst identify and replicating any positive variances
• improving quotation closing ratios and renewal rates
• To develop and implement rigorous and efficient systems, processes and procedures for the underwriting and checking of individual proposals and renewals, ensuring high quality, technically sound and error free underwriting is the department norm
• To carefully monitor the quality and rate of flow of the department’s work, spotting bottlenecks or delays and taking
action to resolve problems and ensure that key proposal deadlines are rigorously met
• To perform regular and ad hoc checks and reviews on files to ensure the quality of work and adherence to
policies and procedures, actively investigating any anomalies and making changes to procedures to
prevent future recurrence as necessary
• To build MEDGULF profitability and product portfolio by meeting with major brokers, agents and sales force to examine reasons for failed proposals or loss of renewal business, gaining feedback on products/services and competitor activity in order to
identify opportunities for new or enhanced products and services
• To visit key clients to build relationships, discuss services, negotiate prices/discounts or detailed modifications to terms and
conditions/exceptions in order to either secure new business or ensure timely renewal, preferably
on terms that improve the company position (reducing risk/enhancing profitability)
• To ensure high standards of service to clients, investigating any client complaints or delays in getting agreement to provision of treatment
• To keep claim costs down by working to monitor claim levels, investigating exceptional cases or unusual trends, checking declaration of preexisting
conditions/risks and identifying suspicious or suspected fraudulent claims
• To construct products and portfolios carefully, managing risk concentrations (client, geography, line of business etc), finding the best incentives for each sales channel and ensuring consistency of approach and offering across the kingdom
• To work with sales teams, agents and brokers to review and understand the reasons why quotations fail or succeed, and monitoring competitor activity, minimizing any advantage that competitors may gain by responding quickly to any initiatives
• To manage the section’s contributions to production of daily management report
• To build regulator trust and confidence in the company by responding quickly and fully to requests for information
