Perform chemical and physical tests on samples from the power generation and water production plants such as oil, gas, fuel oil, water, etc. to determine parameters and report results to relevant parties for further handling.
The job reports to the Supervisor - Lab (Shift). The jobholder is responsible to carry out the prescribed tests on all samples from the plant.
The jobholder must be able to use a variety of laboratory equipment in the course of conducting such tests. Some of the equipment is outdated which makes arriving at the results quickly and accurately quite a challenge.
The jobholder is frequently exposed to noise, fumes, high temperature, hydrogen gas, chemical reagents, oil, heights, etc.
