Job purpose
The Internal Audit Officer role will provide independent and objective assurance services to AWJ Holding by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the sufficiency and effectiveness of risk management, financial and operational controls, and governance. In this capacity, the Internal Audit Officer will be expected to assess risks, develop audit work programs, and conduct and document procedures in accordance with professional standards.
Main Duties and responsibilities
Participates in assessing AWJ business risks and in developing short and medium term audit plans and audit programs for AWJ.
Clearly communicate plans and audit approach to auditees to ensure that engagements are efficiently conducted in a professional manner.
Performs audit procedures, including identifying and defining issues, developing criteria, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and documenting client processes and procedures.
Participates in special audit assignments or examinations at the request of the Head of Internal Audit to support the effectiveness of controls or management systems.
Ensure audit procedures are performed and completes audit work papers by documenting tests and findings in accordance with professional auditing standards.
Identify control gaps and opportunities for improvement.
Prepare meaningful, clear and concise reporting of audit findings and recommendations.
Track and monitor implementation of management’s action plans and monitor remediation.
Plan and perform as requested special reviews of Company functions, processes, business units, contracts and other activities to ensure reliability and integrity of information, proper recording of transactions, safeguarding of assets, compliance with policies and procedures, and effective and efficient use of resources.
Other job duties as assigned.
