Job Summary:
Responsible for 24-hours management of CT Unit
Provide total patient care in compliance with the standards of practice.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clean CT-scan machine and all other equipment in the department.
- Inspects the CT-scan, the dressing rooms and the toilets before starting work to check that all things are in proper order. Keeps the room neat and tidy after procedure.
- Report immediately all technical faults or problem with any equipment in writing to the radiologist through the Supervisor.
- Bring the patient through the ward and takes them back to their ward after procedure.
- Receives the patient with smile, records all statistics in Registers after verifying payment certifications stamp by Account/ Reception.
- Please ask and take the previous history of patient.
- Assist the patient on CT-scan machine coach/ trolley/Wheel chair etc.
- Take consent from the patient before the procedure.
- Does not leave the patient unattended in between or after finishing the procedure.
- Check first the pregnancy test and last menstrual period (LMP) date.
- Cares for the patient in toilet and / or dressing room if needed
- Before starting the procedure please check the blood investigations.
- Prepares the patient and trolley before special investigations e.g. Barium Enema, Myelogram, H.S.G., Sialography, IVP et.
- Cleans the CT-scan room, all work locations and stores in the department (toilet and floor area will be cleaned daily by janitorial services)
- Files radiographs properly. Keeps filing room neat and tidy.
- Brings the items from central supple, store and laundry properly and takes washable linen to laundry.
- The technician is not allowed to visit other departments, clinics, wards, hospital reception in duty hours without permission from the radiologist. He/she should not stand unnecessarily in corridors.
- The technicians should not engage the telephone more than 2-3 minutes. All personal calls are prohibited on the departmental telephone.
- All technicians will cover after hours emergency duty calls as assigned by the radiologist.
- Performs any duties assigned by the radiologist or by management.
- Individual duties shall be assigned to each technician by the head of the department (radiologist)
